Long thought of as simply an island “paradise” Bali is actually a very complex culture. We design each tour to the personal needs and specific interests of our guests: the arts, social traditions and natural beauty of Bali . Some comments from former guests:
When it comes to a depth of understanding not only of Balinese society and culture, but of the aspirations of serious, properly engaged visitors, Richard and Wayan are an unrivalled resource. Gracious, discrete, and tireless hosts, they cater to the express desires of their clients — and then go much further, offering access and opportunities that are beyond the scope of guidebooks or commercial tour groups. Their intimate local knowledge, extensive connections (particularly within the community of makers and artisans) and acute cross-cultural awareness have served us very well, on numerous visits, for nearly 15 years now. We highly recommend them to anyonewishing to make the most of what Bali has to offer. SH and Dr.NvH, Canada & France, Writer & MD
When I went to Bali in 2008 to meet friends from Germany, I did not realize that I would be alone so much as my friends turned out to be on a full time course. And just then I met Wayan and Richard and they changed my whole stay in Bali. They organized trekking for me along rice paddies, outings to temples, lunches, visits to remote country sides, and much more. It turned into a spontaneous and most excellent holiday and cost next to nothing. In Wayan and Richard you do not just have experienced tour guides, you have new friends. I can recommend everything they do most highly. DB, Sydney, Australia. Technology Entrepreneur
We have been traveling to Bali for many years, first to the busy tourist centers, but later enjoying small boutique style hotels in quieter areas. This is exactly the type of place we met Richard and Wayan in 2009. We were staying in what has become our favourite hotel family in Nyuh Kuning.Richard and Wayan shared many sights, accommodations and experiences that we would not have had without meeting them. Visiting local farms, sights and restaurants; sharing specific accommodations that would have been nearly impossible to find on our own. They seem to know what sorts of experiences and places we would enjoy. If you are looking for a large, all inclusive resort or if you enjoy small, out of the way local places with a personal touch, then Richard and Wayan can certainly be an invaluable source of local information. Richard, Wayan and Kadek were our lifeline in Bali. Nothing was too much for them and anything we desired manifested! There knowledge of Bali is unsurpassed and we highly recommend them. S&L London, UK, Entrepreneur/Counselors
Richard and Wayan are the perfect team. They know Bali from the inside and they know exactly what a visitor may need to ask, even before you know what to ask. They are accessible, warm, friendly, and can provide a huge range of possibilities for places to stay and great things to do. They take the time to help you custom fit the visit to your needs and interests. JM, Educator, USA
Richard and Wayan are uniquely qualified to plan a newcomer’s trip to Bali. They understand the culture from the inside, combining Wayan’s life-long perspective as a native Balinese woman, and Richard’s view of Bali–that of a travel-savvy American who has lived in Bali for years. Richard and Wayan made me feel immediately at home in Bali, and then they equipped me with enough information and confidence to strike out on my own to find my own adventures. Their many connections gave me entrees into the rich cultural, spiritual and especially artistic worlds of Bali. AD, Teacher & Nurse, Vermont, USA
My husband and I have visited Bali twice in the last few years and for each visit we have received invaluable advice and assistance from Richard & Wayan. They arranged accommodations for us that were beyond our wildest dreams. They advised us on the locations to purchase crafts and reasonable prices to pay. They took us out into the country to visit their friends and craftspeople, so we got a real feeling for life in the countryside surrounding Ubud. D&PD, Seattle, USA, Retired
